We have good businesses and organizations looking to grow and we also have talented people, young people looking for employment opportunities. By networking we can address these issues and unlock the Clarence’s potential - increase sales and create local jobs instead of importing production and exporting jobs.
The launch of Clarence Ahead Inc followed strong support from local government, business and community bodies including Chambers of Commerce, Progress Associations and Business Enterprise Centres, not for profit sector specialists and individual business people, to the establishment of a forum where business people, associations, government instrumentalities and educational institutions can meet to share experience and knowledge, and discuss opportunities to grow the region.
The amalgamation of the Valley’s councils provided an ideal opportunity to develop an organization focused on unlocking the Clarence Valley’s potential – growing the region.
The concept of a valley wide organisation was introduced by the South Grafton Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank following the establishment and overwhelming support of a similar organisation in Central Victoria that is generating success for business and the local economy.
What CAI does
Networking events are the fundamental activity of CAI.
CAI plans to hold four events each year.
The events will be held at varying venues and locations throughout the Clarence Valley.
These events provide a forum for the presentation of information, the sharing of knowledge and importantly an opportunity for meaningful networking between business and other community stakeholders. They consist of mid-week evening networking dinners with guest speakers, and commerce, business and industry development/encouragement activities including formus and expos.
